Technology that is hard to navigate
Everyday technology can be confusing to use. Signing in and out is a struggle, buttons move around, and getting access to a service often means completing a lot of information.
From the SilverTech Summit
At the SilverTech Summit, older adults shared their ideas, everyday challenges and hopes for technology that truly helps. Their voices are the starting point for everything the Hub is building.
What we heard at the Summit
These are the concerns and priorities seniors raised most often.
Everyday technology can be confusing to use. Signing in and out is a struggle, buttons move around, and getting access to a service often means completing a lot of information.
Seniors spoke about the need for software that helps people stay connected and feel less alone, and for technology that leads to real human connection.
Solutions need to reach everyone, including rural seniors and seniors experiencing homelessness. That takes everyone working together, from seniors themselves to families, caregivers, community groups and clinicians.
Technology should support older adults across every chapter of life: active, independent seniors staying engaged in work and community, seniors transitioning as their daily needs change, and seniors requiring daily care and support. Solutions should help people thrive at every stage, not just focus on late-stage care.
